All classes are on Tuesdays, 7PM-8PM.
Classes start promptly; please be on time.
Location:
The Dhanyata Life Center
8543 South Redwood Road, Suite A
West Jordan, UT
All classes are $20. Classes fill up quickly--you must pre-register by e-mailing Rachel at rachel@ihavethewrite.com. No refunds on classes.
Please bring a three ring binder and a pen or pencil to class each night.
Class format: Classes include an introduction to the topic by Rachel, a brainstorming activity about the topic, and a short writing time to get you started on the topic. You'll leave each class with seven writing prompts to explore through out the week, in your blog or personal journal.
Class packet: Students will receive a class packet for each session attended. Pages in the packet may be hole punched and stored in a binder to make a personal creativity workbook.
Class sharing: Students may share their work with Rachel via e-mail during the week or keep it private--it's all up to you to decide. After all, this is all about stress relief writing, so there's no worries and no pressures. I'm not a red ink editor and will only make gentle and encouraging comments about your work. One short piece of work per student per week, please.
Contact me directly for additional editing or writing help starting at fifty dollars an hour.

A Room With a View
Look through the "window" and what will you see? We'll take a closer look at windows, both the ones you look in and the ones you look out, the real ones that you see all around you and the symbolic ones that represent moments in your life. And that's just the beginning! Who knows what you find in your writing when you take a peek inside?

Beyond the Edges
Is a picture worth a thousand words? Many times, a photograph doesn't tell the whole story. In fact, sometimes the most interesting stories are happening just beyond the edges of what the photographer captured on film. We'll learn how to go beyond the obvious story in our writing as well.
Note: please bring a photograph with you.

Write for What's Right
So what if the news is full of doom and gloom? We'll use our words to make a difference in a positive way. No matter if you're writing about something good that's happened in your own life or writing a letter of gratitude to someone who you adore, we'll remind ourselves that "extra extra read all about it" can be a very good thing indeed.

The Creative Matrix
A creative way to record your day. An artistic way to write about all the things that happen around you daily that you just might miss if you blink.
Note: please bring colored pencils with you

The Pie
We'll slice up this topic and serve it fresh! No worries, it'll be as easy as pie--and calorie free! A tasty new way to look at life and sweeten up your story telling ability, all at the very same time.
